Spring Fling Adoptathon
Animal Welfare, Animal Humane/New Mexico and Watermelon Mountain Ranch in Rio Rancho adopted out a total of 605 dogs and cats to loving homes at simultaneous events at Lowe’s on Paseo del Norte NE and at the PetSmart near Cottonwood Mall. “Once again, New Mexicans showed their compassion and support in helping out such a worthy cause” says Mayor Martin J. Chávez, “and I thank them for having saved lives, in addition to providing homes for loving pets.” Even more significantly, the Department of Animal Welfare adopted out a total of 113 pets at all its facilities and at the Adoptathon on Saturday, May 3, possibly a one day record for the department. People who missed the Adoptathon, but who are still looking to adopt can still find loving pets at Animal Welfare’s Eastside and Westside Shelters and at Lucky Paws in Coronado Center.
