Treecycling
Recycle your live Christmas tree for free!
The Solid Waste Management Department, Parks and Recreation, and PNM are teaming up to offer residents a chance to recycle their real Christmas trees. The program kicks off on December 28, 2026, and runs through January 10, 2027. Trees may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Eagle Rock Convenience Center, 6301 Eagle Rock NE, 505-768-3925
- Ladera Golf Course, 3401 Ladera NW, 505-836-4449
- Montessa Park Convenience Center, 3512 Los Picaros SE, 505-768-3930, closed on Thursdays and Fridays
PNM Vegetation Management crews and Parks and Recreation staff will grind trees into mulch chips, which can provide a better growing environment for plants and residential landscapes.
Residents can pick up mulch chips free of charge while supplies last!
Please remove all bags, tree stands, decorations, and lights from trees before dropping them off to be mulched. Artificial trees will not be accepted. Limit of five trees per resident; no commercial customers.
