Animal Welfare Pit Crew Ready for Pit Bull Pit Stop

Every “Pit Stop” helps stop pet overpopulation

ALBUQUERQUE — Start your engines! On Wednesday, May 13, the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) Pit Crew will be ready to help local pets pull into a life-changing “pit stop.” AWD will offer 100 spay/neuter surgery reservations for Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes for Albuquerque residents.

Pet owners ready to make the stop can visit AWD’s to schedule an appointment.

Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes must weigh at least three pounds, and pet owners may make reservations for no more than two dogs. A $20 surcharge per dog will apply and must be paid at the time of surgery.

By making this quick “pit stop,” pet owners are helping reduce pet overpopulation and keeping Albuquerque’s pets healthy and safe.
