Ethics in the Workplace Training: Mandatory

Mandatory Annual Ethcis Training for all City of Albuquerque Employees

 

Welcome to Ethics in the Workplace for CABQ Employees.

 

Understanding the difference between right and wrong is very challenging in the world we live in today. With the ever-changing political climate, new rules for conducting business, technological innovations in business development, social media, and digital analytics, applying ethical business practices is more elusive than ever.

This course will examine the definition of ethics and how to make ethical choices in the ever-changing world of work.

This course is a 1.5-hour training module that provides City of Albuquerque Employees with a common understanding of what ethical behavior in the workplace looks like in practice. This training is mandatory for all employees every two years as required in accordance with COA Administrative Instruction 7-54.

All Employees will be required to attend the training each year starting in the fall of 2018.

 

Upon completing this course you will be able to:

  • Explain the impact of ethics in the workplace
  • Explore Individual ethics
  • Learn the stages of moral development
  • Learn the three ethical theories
  • Define the qualities of ethics
  • Identify ethical dilemmas in the workplace
  • Explain different types of misconduct in the workplace
  • Explain city policies and ethical practices
  • Identify ethics-enhancing tools
  • Explain the process of ethical decision making
  • Review City of Albuquerque Policies and Procedures

Course Duration:  1.5 hours

Who is required to attend? All City of Albuquerque employees

Training types:

          Face to Face: For all new employees attending New Employee Orientation or who do not have access to a computer for online training.

          Online: For all employees who work for the City of Albuquerque

          Elected officials and the City Council may attend this training for the first time online if they have attended the Ethics and Code of Conduct Training Module.

When must the training be completed?

The training will be accessed online through the City of Albuquerque Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) portal and must be completed each year before July 30th.

How do I access the training?

  2. If you have taken the course in previous years, you will be notified via email to take it the following year.
  3. If you do not have an account in the Knowledge City Learning Platform, contact Keith Johnson in the Employee Learning Center at [email protected]
  4. Complete the course
  5. Print out your certificate to show to your supervisor
  6. Your training record will be updated in your PeopleSoft Learning profile.
