Now Leasing: Space for Social Services at Gateway Center
Albuquerque – The City is actively seeking new tenants to join its mission of supporting Albuquerque’s most vulnerable residents. Multiple spaces are now available at the Gateway Center, including in the Education Building, formerly used by Albuquerque Community Safety before their recent relocation.
“As we continue leasing space at the Gateway Center, we’re looking for partners who can help us build a hub of support and resources, serving neighborhoods throughout our City,” said Jennifer McDonald, Gateway Operations Officer. “Each service plays a vital role in helping people move toward stability, healing, and housing. We’re looking for tenants that share this mission.”
The City is particularly interested in partnering with tenants that provide the following services:
- Healthcare providers
- Housing specialists
- Behavioral health experts
- Workforce development programs
- Other social service organizations
“The Gateway Center is about building a strong network to uplift our unhoused and vulnerable neighbors,” said Mayor Tim Keller. ““We’re inviting service providers to join us in creating a hub that fills long-standing gaps in our community. If your organization is ready to make a difference, there’s a place for you here.”
The City is also exploring the addition of an on-site pharmacy to expand access to care.
Located in a 572,000 square foot former hospital, the Gateway Center currently houses nine tenants, including three accredited hospitals and a growing network of Gateway services. These include the Housing and Treatment Navigation Center, First Responder Receiving Area, Medical Respite Center, and Medical Sobering Center.
The Center’s newest tenant, Ideal Option, specializes in substance use disorder treatment.
"Now that Ideal Option is officially open inside the Gateway Center, we’ve seen some of the strongest opening numbers of any of our clinics nationwide — a clear sign that we’re in the right place, meeting a real community need,” said Athena Huckaby, Community Outreach Manager at Ideal Option. “We’re proud to be part of the Gateway Center and excited to see it grow into a hub for care and connection. I’d absolutely encourage other providers and organizations to consider making it their home."
