New Operator to Provide Housing and Treatment Navigation at Gateway Center
ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque continues supporting pathways to treatment and housing through a new provider at the Gateway Center, Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), which was selected through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. CPLC is already providing services through the Gateway Network.
Following City Council Approval, CPLC will provide housing and treatment navigation services at the Gateway Center to assist individuals experiencing homelessness in finding and maintaining permanent housing. Their culturally competent, community-centered approach helps ensure that services are accessible, equitable, and effective.
“Gateway Center has become a hub for support and services where people can get the help they need,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Because of strong partners like Chicanos Por La Causa, we will continue to help people get into housing, recovery, and stability.”
“CPLC is a valued community partner, and we look forward to them stepping into this new role to provide needed support for people on their journey to stability and housing,” said Health, Housing, and Homelessness Director Gilbert Ramirez. “Thank you to City Council for continuing to support our mission of uplifting the most vulnerable in our City.”
CPLC continues to operate Gateway West, our City’s largest shelter, successfully, and provides case management for residents.
