Gateway Center to Expand by 100 Beds
Two contracts expand Gateway Center capacity and impact, utilizing critical State allocations.
The Housing and Treatment Navigation Center, which is a 90-day program that provides access to case management, substance use treatment, and other supportive services, will expand by 100 beds, including 50 for men and 50 for women. This brings the total number of men’s and women’s Navigation and Treatment beds to 192.
Chicanos Por La Causa will be the operator for the Women's Housing and Treatment Navigation Center expansion.
Community Bridges, based in Mesa, Arizona, will operate the Men’s Housing and Treatment Navigation Center. They operate similar facilities in Arizona.
“The first step was opening 50 beds at our Housing and Treatment Navigation Center. Now we’re ready to scale up to meet the demand,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This expansion more than doubles our ability to provide pathways to healing.”
Operations for these expansions will be paid for with a state allocation of $1.35 million for each expansion.
"Through this vital funding, we can connect more people to life-changing treatment and services,” said Health, Housing and Homelessness Director Gilbert Ramirez. “Thank you to the state for injecting funding into programming that offers safe, dignified spaces where people can begin their journey to stability.”
