Services uplift the most vulnerable, including domestic violence survivors and our unhoused neighbors.

ALBUQUERQUE – The approval of key social services legislation will help sustain services that uplift the most vulnerable in our community.

These three separate contracts appropriate funding for the following purposes:

  • Heading Home Street Outreach for $225,000
    • This funding promotes the access of Permanent Supportive Housing Vouchers available to our unhoused neighbors who otherwise could not maintain long-term housing.
    • According to a study by Root Policy Research, investing in Permanent Supportive Housing could save the City up to $30,000 per person.
  • NM Coalition to End Homelessness for $250,000
    • This contract is to operate the City’s Coordinated Entry Referral System, which refers clients to services across the city based on their needs and acuity.
  • S.A.F.E. House Shelter Services for $435,000
    • Funding will help ensure domestic violence survivors have a safe, secure space to go.

“Each of these services is a vital component of our system of care, giving people real pathways to stability,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “With the help of key community partners, we’re prioritizing the most vulnerable through safety, shelter, and services.”

“Uplifting vulnerable populations is not possible without strong community partners,” said Health, Housing and Homelessness Deputy Director Charlie Verploegh, PhD.

“We look forward to the continued work of creating a system that provides the right support at the right time.”

Each contract takes effect on July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2026.
