IndieWire cites skilled crews, affordability, incentives in recognition
ALBUQUERQUE – Albuquerque has been named in the Best U.S. Cities for Indie Filmmakers in 2026 ranking by IndieWire.
Rather than focusing solely on financial incentives, IndieWire recognized Albuquerque for the combination of factors that make it an exceptional place to produce independent films, including its skilled local workforce, production facilities, equipment vendors, training programs, and reasonable cost of living. Together these advantages have helped establish Albuquerque as one of the nation's leading destinations for filmmaking.
