Albuquerque Earns Global Praise With LMGI Award Nomination
Albuquerque Film Office named finalist for Outstanding Film Office
ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Film Office has been named one of six finalists worldwide for the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) award for Outstanding Film Commission / Office, earning recognition for its work on Apple TV’s Pluribus.
Presented annually, the LMGI Awards honor exemplary achievements in film, television, and commercial productions around the world. The Outstanding Film Commission / Office category recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional support for productions and contribute to the success of projects filmed within their jurisdictions.
The Albuquerque Film Office joins an elite group of nominees from the United States, Europe, and South America. Other finalists include film commissions and offices representing London, Colombia, New Jersey, Northern California, and Washington state.
"The Albuquerque Film Office works hard to clear obstacles and create opportunities for projects. Our team is empowered to be flexible, responsive, and creative in helping filmmakers achieve their goals,” said Film Liaison Cyndy McCrossen. “This nomination reflects the collaborative, can-do approach that has helped establish Albuquerque as a leading destination for film and television production."
The nomination recognizes the Albuquerque Film Office's support of Pluribus, an Apple TV production filmed in Albuquerque. The project used local talent, businesses, and locations.
"Being ranked among the world's leading film commissions is a testament to the people and partnerships that make Albuquerque an ideal place to film,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This nomination also underscores the economic impact and creative energy that the industry brings to our city."
The nomination comes as both Pluribus and Stranger Things season 5 were also recognized in the Outstanding Locations category, a nod to the exceptional location professionals whose vision and expertise were critical in bringing these productions to the screen.
Albuquerque continues to attract major film and television projects due to its experienced workforce, diverse filming locations, production infrastructure, and strong partnerships between industry and community stakeholders. The city's film sector supports thousands of jobs and generates significant economic activity throughout the region.
The 13th annual LMGI Awards will be presented in August 2026.
