Lifeguards are highly trained first responders who are prepared to respond to any type of emergency in and around a pool. Not only to respond to emergencies but more importantly prevent injuries from occurring by enforcing facility rules. We also get to teach children of all ages how to swim! Age 15+
Make a lasting impact with bicycle riders by helping people learn to repair their bicycles. Mechanical training is provided, and no experience is necessary. If you are a person that loves bicycles and wants to help other people, this is the job for you! Age 15+
Instruct and supervise youth in outdoor activities such as climbing walls, bicycle safety education programs, caving, rappelling, rocket building, archery, and more. Age 15+

Provide police service that otherwise would be lost or delayed because of workload saturation on sworn officers, relieve sworn officer of non-related or low priority police service so that they may pursue anti-crime activities more effectively. Collect and preserve physical evidence in the field; ensure the preservation of all items taken into evidence and testify in court regarding the chain of custody and integrity of evidence. Senior Affairs Volunteers are younger residents interested in lending a hand, groups that want to give back, or seniors hoping to get more involved in the community. We provide resources with care and compassion that help our community thrive while embracing aging. Volunteer screening varies per assignment. Engaging vulnerable populations may require a background check.
The volunteers of ABQ BioPark Education make many programs at the BioPark possible. Education could not carry out its mission of teaching about life and encouraging conservation without the generous work of volunteers. 14+
The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council works to provide the Mayor’s office with the youth perspective on city issues and to foster a sense of community in order to aid in the development and betterment of Albuquerque.
