Small Business Fair to Connect Entrepreneurs With Tools for Growth

ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque’s Small Business Office, Job Training Albuquerque, and SCORE are teaming up to host a Small Business Resource Fair connecting entrepreneurs with more than 40 organizations dedicated to helping people start and grow their businesses.

Representatives from City departments, lenders, marketing agencies, and other organizations will be available to provide information about funding opportunities, business services, training, and other resources designed to help local entrepreneurs succeed.

In addition, Luis Hernandez of Elite Business Coaching and Consulting will lead an interactive workshop to help business owners craft a clear, effective one-line elevator pitch for their business.

This month’s fair will also highlight free training opportunities available to Albuquerque residents and small businesses. Attendees can learn about Job Training Albuquerque, which offers more than 150 industry-specific training programs at no cost, as well as Get Certified ABQ, which provides free access to Google Career Certificate training.

“Albuquerque’s small businesses are the heart of our local economy, and we want to help them succeed,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This Resource Fair is about making sure entrepreneurs, whether they are just starting out or looking to grow, can connect directly with the tools, training, funding, and expertise they need.”

The Small Business Resource Fair will take place Thursday, September 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cottonwood Mall in the former Forever 21 location, 10000 Coors Bypass NW.

The event is free and open to the public. Whether attendees are launching a new venture or expanding an existing business, the fair will offer direct access to organizations and programs that can help them take the next step. The first 100 participants will also receive a complimentary snack from a local food court vendor.
