Program Summary

The City of Albuquerque seeks to provide emergency assistance to families who were previously excluded from federal stimulus aid, do not qualify for unemployment or paid sick leave benefits, or have experienced loss of employment due to a COVID-19 workplace shutdown. The Fund will award nearly $2.5 million in CARES Act funding for Albuquerque families who are experiencing hardship directly tied to the pandemic.

The Community Impact Fund will offer one-time direct assistance of $2,000 to qualifying households to cover basic needs, food, housing costs, utilities, transportation, school supplies, and other household expenses such as child care, health care, or medical expenses. Assistance can also be used to pay back a loan or debt incurred during the pandemic, or any combination thereof.

Upon successful completion of the application, the direct assistance will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. A household can apply only once. Applications will be accepted from December 7, 2020 until December 30, 2020 or until funds are exhausted. Please submit applications as early as possible.
