Grant Middle School Park Improvements Completed 2026

Background

Grant Middle School Park was in need of a refresher. Thanks to a generous contribution from Bernalillo County Commissioner Eric Olivas and funding from Councilor Fiebelkorn, the design process kicked off in September 2025.

The playground's worn sand surface was removed and replaced with new wood chips, along with new play equipment. New benches and picnic tables were added near the playground, and additional furnishings were replaced throughout the rest of the park, including at the gazebo, with new picnic tables, two of them ADA accessible, and benches added at the fields. The park's old plastic trash cans were also swapped out for more durable metal cans.

The project was completed in August 2026.
