East Atrisco Kimbar Park Improvements are Complete!

The project, which reached completion earlier this year, features refreshed lighting, new picnic tables, and permanent park benches. To enhance the park’s sustainability and cleanliness, old plastic trash cans have also been replaced with new, permanent metal receptacles.

The centerpiece of the renovation is the brand-new playground equipment, manufactured by Gametime and installed by Altitude Recreation. Following a collaborative, community design process that began last summer, the playground installation itself was completed in approximately three weeks, and the park officially reopened to the public on April 10, 2026.

“This project was a true collaboration with the community,” said Councilor Stephanie Telles. “Neighbors started this process last summer to ensure the design reflected the needs of local families. From the equipment types to the specific colors for the shade structures and play surfaces, the residents were the ones who made the final calls. I am thrilled to see their vision come to life for District 1.”

The renovation was a coordinated effort between City Council Services Project Coordinator and Parks and Recreation (PRD) staff.
