Albuquerque Runoff Election Set for December 9
Voters city-wide will decide the race for Mayor of Albuquerque, along with City Council Districts 1 and 3
ALBUQUERQUE – City voters will return to the polls on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, for final results in the races for Mayor and City Council Districts 1 and 3. The runoff follows the November 4 election because no candidate in those races secured more than 50 percent of the votes, as required under the City Charter.
A runoff election is held between the two candidates who received the most votes during the regular election, ensuring the winner has 50% majority rather than just the highest percentage in a crowded field.
"Every election matters, including runoffs," said City Clerk Ethan Watson." Turning out in December is a critical part of our local democracy."
Important Dates:
- Election Day: Tuesday, December 9, 2025
