University of New Mexico requests a new air quality permit in Application #3551

The applicant is requesting a new construction permit for the following:
- Install a new 300 kW/480 horsepower (hp) diesel fired emergency generator/internal combustion engine. This new backup generator’s main function is to provide backup power to support operations in the event that primary power is interrupted.
- Requests 200 hours of operation per year. The generator will only be operated during unavoidable loss of commercial power or during required maintenance.
