Application #1029-M3, SolAero Technologies Corporation

SolAero Technologies Corporation requests a modification to their air quality construction permit in Application #1029-M3

March 25, 2026

The applicant is requesting a modification to Permit #1029-M2-2TR. The proposed changes include:

  • The removal of a base scrubber (EF-5B)
  • The addition of six (6) new Veeco EPI growth reactors (EBARA1-12)
  • A new burn wet abatement system to control emissions from the reactors, including
    1. Six (6) UPTIMUM PLUS control devices (UPTIMUM1-6)
    2. Three (3) electrostatic dust collector (EDC) PLUS control devices (EDC1-3)
  • A new solvent vent
  • A new base scrubber
  • A new acid scrubber
  • 3 existing cooling towers (CT1-3) are being incorporated into this permit

The new burn wet abatement system disposes of emissions via combustion and subsequent scrubbing of particles, as well as absorption of soluble gas components with the aid of a scrubbing liquid. There are no emission increases associated with Unit 6a (CHEM) as the new EPI growth reactors are more efficient than the existing reactors
