The Department of Municipal Development (DMD) assures that capital projects will be completed efficiently and in a timely manner with high quality standards. The department also oversees the security and maintenance of city facilities, including the operation of Isotopes Stadium. DMD provides the operation and maintenance of city streets, storm drains, and traffic signals as well as the development and design of capital infrastructure for streets and storm drainage.
The parking division manages several parking structures and parking lots providing maintenance and repairs of facilities, attendant services and customer support, and oversees parking enforcement services. The parking division also oversees parking meter operations including revenue collections, installations, and repairs.

What We Do
Capital Implementation Program
CIP's mission is to enhance the physical and cultural development of the City.
Designs and provide construction management for new transportation and storm drainage projects.
Storm Water Management
Manages pump stations, dams, and storm water quality.
Street & Storm Maintenance
Maintains and upgrades arterial and residential roads and some arroyos around the city.
Installs and maintains traffic signals, intelligent transportation network, streetlights, flashing beacons, signs, and pavement markings.
Provides construction administration and inspection services for the City's public funded construction projects.
Facilities & Energy
Provides management and maintenance services such as HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing.
Provides uniformed security services at City-owned facilities.
Provides management of parking facilities for the City of Albuquerque and manages parking enforcement activities.
Builds and remodels parks with class II construction crews and manages park construction by on-call contractors for the City of Albuquerque.
Silver Avenue Bicycle Boulevard
The Department of Municipal Development has made numerous changes to Silver Avenue. These improvements are another step towards making Silver Avenue a more efficient bicycle boulevard.
Bike Facility Enhancements on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue
Through engineering and traffic studies, the City of Albuquerque has provided a more efficient roadway for commuters.
City's First HAWK Signal
The City of Albuquerque is proud to announce that its first HAWK Signal or High Intensity Activated Crosswalk has been activated.
Paseo del Norte & Interstate 25 Interchange
The Paseo del Norte and I-25 Interchange improvements have been a high priority for the City of Albuquerque and the Metropolitan Area for many years.
ADA Improvements to Sidewalks
The City of Albuquerque is making ADA improvements to 13 sidewalks around the city.
