Mayor Keller, City Clerk Make Voter Registration More Accessible

With Election Day less than three months away, the City urges residents to register or update registrations

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – With residents facing challenges to traditional methods of voter registration, Mayor Tim Keller and the City Clerk’s office are expanding the number of locations where registration is available and reminding folks of upcoming deadlines.

The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is to log on to www.nmvote.org and register online. The Bernalillo County Clerk will also mail you a voter registration form directly to your home if you request one by calling 505-468-1291.

“Voting matters,” said Mayor Tim Keller, “and we want the process of registering or updating your registration to be as simple and convenient as it can be. Not one person should be deterred from exercising this right because the registration process felt confusing or overwhelming.”

The City is adding in-person registration options to make this process more convenient and accessible than ever. In partnership with the Department of Senior Affairs to offer in-person voter registration at meal distribution sites each Thursday from 11am to 1pm.

  • North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center: August 13, September 17
  • North Valley Senior Center: August 20, September 24
  • Barelas Senior Center: August 27, October 1
  • Los Volcanes Senior Center: September 3, October 8

The deadline to submit a new voter registration is Tuesday, October 6th. After that, voters can still register in-person at an early vote location once early voting begins. To find information about early voting dates and locations, you can visit www.cabq.gov/vote2020.
