Ballooning is an integral part of the fabric of New Mexican culture, and our city is proud to be a world-renowned location that is ideal for balloons to take flight. Open year-round the Balloon Museum has become a favorite outing for local families, a top destination for school field trips, and a flagship attraction for international visitors.

We encourage visitors of all ages to join us in a spirit of adventure, curiosity, and play. Our programs, exhibits, and events are rooted in science, technology, engineering, art, and math with a focus on innovation, exploring the unknown, and embracing the value of trying new things—regardless of the outcome.

Come visit us and learn why the "Albuquerque Box" has made the sky the limit! We are excited to welcome you into our family friendly Museum with hands-on activities, interactive displays, reading nooks, and a theater equipped with hearing assist devices. Albuquerque City officials and Balloon Museum leadership use gold painted shovels to break ground as a rainbow of color smoke explodes above them. Alongside them local parents with their kids also hold shovels to break ground at the Outdoor Balloon Adventure site.
