TIF Lifecycle
Tax & Rev Location Codes

Effective July 1, 2025, any business operating within one of Albuquerque’s designated Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts must report gross receipts tax (GRT) using the district’s assigned Location Code.
MR Area TIF District Maps

The entire Downtown 2025 and West Central MR Areas are now designated TIF districts. The map below shows the boundaries of the new TIF areas.

Tax Increment Financing (TIF) is a new redevelopment tool in Albuquerque that allows a portion of increased tax revenue within designated areas to be reinvested locally, spurring long-term economic growth and revitalization.
