Shelters at Capacity
In order to better manage our shelters and care for the thousands of stray animals that come through our doors each year, we are asking people who want to surrender a pet to speak with an Animal Welfare representative before bringing your pet in.
If you must surrender a pet immediately, please bring your your pet to one of our animal shelters. If you are willing to help us deal with our capacity problem, we ask that you voluntarily go on a waiting list by calling 311 (505-768-2000).
Animal Intake & Receiving
The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department only accepts animals from people residing in the City of Albuquerque.
Valid identification is required to drop off all animals.
