Outstanding Owner: CABQ Recognized by Contractor Group
ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque has been named Outstanding Public Owner at the Associated General Contractors New Mexico Best Buildings Awards. The City’s Department of Municipal Development was selected through a vote of AGC’s membership, which represents a cross-section of New Mexico’s commercial construction companies.
“We are committed to excellence in construction and we take pride in the work we do to build and operate buildings across the City. Our teams at the City work to design, build, maintain and share our facilities with the public,” said Jennifer Turner, Director of the Department of Municipal Development. “We want to thank the membership of AGC for recognizing all the hard work of our teams.”
The City owns more than 2,000 properties and HAS 300 active building projects. The awards will be formally presented on Friday, May 30, at AGC’s annual Best Buildings Awards Celebration.
“Our city teams work hard to design, build, and maintain everything from the club houses at City golf courses and APD substations, to City Hall and our community centers. I want to thank AGC for recognizing the hard work of City employees who keep these facilities open and functioning daily for the public,” said Mayor Tim Keller.
AGC New Mexico’s Industry Choice Awards are determined by a membership-wide vote. Each AGC member company casts one vote in categories that include Outstanding General Contractor, Specialty Contractor, Supplier, Service Firm, Architect, Consulting Engineer, Public Owner, and Private Owner. A minimum of 10% membership participation is required for each category to validate the award
