The goals of the committee are to provide a forum to discuss complex boundary issues City/County boundary areas and to: 1. Study and advice member agencies on best practices to provide effective services 2. Receive new testimony from residents of the boundary areas as to how infrastructure deficiencies and service delivery issues impact homes, neighborhoods and businesses 3. Propose plans and processes to improve infrastructure and service delivery 4. Evaluate and recommend areas for possible land swaps and annexations to improve service

The Boundary Advisory Committee includes staff members from the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority, Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. The committee is concerned with infrastructure needs where City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County lands and parcels abut., in other words the “checkerboard areas.”
Committee meetings are quarterly, and the agenda shall include a public comment period.
