Description

Opening Talk with Klaus Biesenbach, Director, Neue Nationalgalerie

Explore the powerful intersection of art and politics in early 20th-century Germany through this talk on the exhibition Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910–1945: Masterworks from the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, on view August 23, 2025 – January 4, 2026. The exhibition traces a pivotal chapter in history from the final years of the German Empire, through World War I and the vibrant Weimar Republic, to the rise of National Socialism and the devastation of the Holocaust. It explores how artists responded to and were shaped by the turbulent forces of their time.
