Reducing Threats, Staying Safe

Our office pro-actively plans for all hazards, works to reduce threats, and prepares Albuquerque citizens and organizations to respond to and recover from any emergency including terrorism.

The City Emergency Operations Center

The Albuquerque Emergency Operations Center.

Albuquerque's Office of Emergency Management works to reduce and minimize loss of life, human suffering, and property damage from all hazards and disasters including wildfire, flood, hazardous material (HazMat) spills, major snow emergencies, and terrorism, including the use of weapons of mass destruction.

We work to stand ready to provide the City of Albuquerque – citizens, families, schools, workplaces, and organizations – with the education and support they need to prepare for, respond to, and recover from any and all future emergencies and disasters.

Not only are we prepared to support our citizens, but we stand ready to extend this capability beyond our city and state lines to support others responding to and recovering from all emergencies and disasters.

We approach our mission and our work through the City's comprehensive, proactive, risk-based, (soon to be approved) All-Hazard Emergency Management Program.
