Get on Board With City Offerings to Best Enjoy Your Summer
ALBUQUERQUE – ABQ RIDE welcomes the public to grab “info on the go” as they catch their bus, walk to work, or pass by the transit hub in the heart of downtown.
Summer Resource Fairs return to the Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC) for the second year in a row to share helpful resources like Open Space maps; recovery and housing materials; community center program calendars; and ways to sign up for swimming, summer reading programs, nutrition classes, and more!
Two events will be held each month on Wednesdays throughout the summer at the ATC, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on May 14, May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 13, and August 27.
“There are enriching public resources at your fingertips,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Fairs like this are a great way for the community to connect with City programs that can be a game-changer for families – let’s make this a great summer with activities, classes, and other Albuquerque gems that might make the coming season a little easier and certainly more fun!”
The fairs will be held under the covered rotunda near the ATC’s historic fountain along 1st Street between Central and Gold, and will include information tables from City of Albuquerque departments, nonprofits, and local businesses. Free parking is available in the 2nd and Gold parking structure courtesy of the Department of Municipal Development.
“ABQ RIDE serves a diverse community. By design these resource fairs offer something for everyone and help highlight the incredible programming available to the public,” said Transit Director Leslie Keener. “I guarantee that anyone who attends will learn about opportunities they never knew existed – and I hope they take advantage of them, especially transit services!”
“We want to show people the rich recreational, arts and culture, and educational programming available to them,” said Marketing Specialist Katherine Anzures. “Hopefully we reach hundreds of community members as they pass through our facility to ensure they get information about what is out there for them to enjoy a great summer!”
The official event pages for this series can be found on ABQRIDE.com. These events can be reached on ABQ RIDE routes 5, 8, 10, 11, 16, 36, 50, 53, 54, 97, 766 and 777, as well as via the Rail Runner. Plan your bus route by using the Transit app.
