Description
The Solid Waste Management Department, Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, the Parks and Recreation Department, and PNM are teaming up for our annual tree recycling event. The sustainable post-holiday season event is asking residents to bring their live trees to be mulched for FREE at three separate locations across the city.
Crews at Eagle Rock Convenience Center, Montessa Park Convenience Center, and Ladera Golf Course will grind the trees into a mulch that can be used at the Cerro Colorado Landfill to prevent erosion. Residents are also welcome to come to any of the three locations to pick up FREE mulch for their homes and gardens while supplies last.
Trees may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday, December 29, 2025, through Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the following locations:
- Eagle Rock Convenience Center, 6301 Eagle Rock NE
- 505-857-8318
- Ladera Golf Course, Coors and Ladera NW
- 505-888-8115
- Montessa Park Convenience Center, 3512 Los Picaros SE
- Closed January 1 & 2 and January 8 & 9
- 505-873-6607
Anyone dropping off a tree is asked to remove all bags, tree stands, decorations, and lights from trees before arriving. Limit 5 trees per resident.
