Who We Are

The team at the Office of Civic Engagement includes Zoé Otero Martinez, Nicholas Vottero, and Mariah Harrison. With extensive professional experience in Albuquerque, they possess an in-depth understanding of organizing in our diverse community. Complementing their expertise, the office is supported by dedicated AmeriCorps VISTA members committed to combating poverty and enhancing capacity across the city.

What We Do

The office of Civic Engagement has four primary focus areas.

The One Albuquerque Volunteers platform offers the largest list of opportunities for residents to get involved and provides tools for volunteer coordinators to streamline the recruitment and management of volunteers. 02 listed in light maroon half circle with triangle at midpoint pointing to the left, over smaller maroon circle. Education Partnerships. Formalize contributions from volunteers as a pathway to employment. Nonprofit and Philanthropy. Facilitate partnerships with nonprofit organizations throughout the City. Identify new ways to support these organizations.

Mission

To increase civic participation of Albuquerque residents by creating and promoting volunteer opportunities, making city government more accessible, and empowering people to contribute to the decision making that affects their lives.
