2026 Minimum Wage

The 2026 minimum wage required to be paid from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026:

  1. Effective January 1, 2026, the City of Albuquerque minimum wage is $11.85 per hour. However, the State of New Mexico’s $12.00 per hour minimum wage supersedes the City’s minimum wage and is the prevailing wage. This prevailing wage is $12.00 per hour.
  2. Effective January 1, 2026, the City of Albuquerque minimum wage will be $10.85 per hour if the employee’s employer provides healthcare and/or childcare benefits to the employee during any pay period and the employer pays an amount for these benefits equal to or in excess of an annualized cost of $2,500.00. However, the State of New Mexico’s $12.00 per hour minimum wage supersedes the City’s minimum wage with the benefits credit and is the prevailing wage. This prevailing wage is $12.00 per hour.
  3. Starting January 1, 2026, the minimum wage for tipped employees will be $7.20.
