 Message from the Inspector General

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) has the responsibility for promoting accountability, integrity, and efficiency and transparency in the governance of the City of Albuquerque.  The OIG accomplishes this through inspections, special reviews and investigations where there are allegations or indications of wrongdoing, waste, fraud, mismanagement or abuse.  The OIG also assess effectiveness, efficiency, and best practices in the City’s programs in an effort to obtain continuous quality improvement. 

While conducting risk assessments to identify problems, vulnerabilities and risk to the operations and programs of the City, our best source of information is tips from our employees and citizens.  As the Inspector General, I am asking for your help providing information on suspected wrongdoing or mismanagement by employees and contractors of the City of Albuquerque.  Remember, persons providing information to the OIG may remain anonymous.  If you see something, or know something, please say something by alerting this office.

As the Inspector General, I will be happy to speak to your group or organization regarding the functions of the OIG and how we can work together for the continuous improvement of the City of Albuquerque.
