City Leaders Host Public Meeting to Gather Input on the Renaming of Avenida César Chávez

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Join City leaders on April 14, 2026, for a second public meeting to gain community input on the process for the renaming of Avenida César Chávez.

This second meeting is specifically to ensure the process of renaming the City thoroughfare adheres to City ordinance and public sentiment is heard, recorded, and considered throughout the process.

The meeting is not a public hearing or decision-making forum. As the renaming of streets is a quasi-judicial matter, City Councilors will not be in attendance.

 Executive Director of the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Zack Quintero has again graciously offered the Center’s facility for this event.
