City and Community Partners Host Second Annual Holiday Community Event

City departments and local providers team up to make the holiday season safe and memorable for over 1,500 residents

December 19, 2025

ALBUQUERQUE– Santa Claus paid a visit to the International District on Friday afternoon! Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) and local service providers brought holiday cheer to hundreds of families at the Seasons of Nonviolence Holiday Community Event. Held at the ACS International District headquarters, the free, family-friendly event transformed the space into a festive celebration for the community.

Families enjoyed an evening filled with holiday activities including a visit from Santa Claus, a cupcake walk, mini-golf, movie, and rock-climbing wall. Children received presents from Santa, and attendees were offered food vouchers after completing a brief community survey.

City departments and community partners collaborated to create a safe, joyful, and engaging experience for Albuquerque families. Participating organizations included the Albuquerque City Councilors, 99.9 The Beat FM, Women in Leadership, RKL Sales Corporation, T-Mobile and Molina Healthcare, and Bernalillo County Commissioner Adriann Barboa.

“This event is about bringing our community together in a safe and festive environment,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “We are proud to host an evening where families can celebrate the holiday season while promoting nonviolence and community connection.”

"Seeing so many families come together as a community tonight is what our work is all about,” said ACS Director Jodie Esquibel. “Events like this remind us that community connection and safety go hand in hand."

“There is nothing more powerful than seeing District 6 families feel seen, supported, and celebrated,” said City Councilor Nichole Rogers. “Tonight was a reminder of what’s possible when government works hand-in-hand with community partners. Together we create meaningful impact and lay the foundation for a thriving community.”

"Celebrating the season while promoting nonviolence and family engagement is exactly what our community needs,” said Bernalillo County Commissioner Adriann Barboa. “I’m proud to support an event that brings joy and connection to so many families."

The Seasons of Nonviolence Holiday Community Event demonstrates the City’s commitment to fostering safe, welcoming spaces and supporting Albuquerque families during the holiday season.
