Description
The cheetah is the world's fastest land animal, able to reach speeds of 68 miles per hour. This distinctive spotted cat is also Africa's most endangered feline. Cheetahs once lived throughout most of Africa, and their range spread through the Middle East and southern Asia. Today, they live in only 9% of their historic African range, and are functionally extinct.
As cheetahs race against extinction, join BioPark Education staff and volunteers to learn about these magnificent cats during International Cheetah Day.
Celebrate cheetahs at the Zoo and learn about their fight for survival. Learn how you can help save international wildlife like cheetahs, as well as wildlife right here in New Mexico.
