About the Trauma Recovery Center

The TRC serves as the headquarters for Violence Intervention Program (VIP) division of the Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) Department. It is designed to

combine assertive outreach, advocacy, evidence-based mental health support, and comprehensive case management for victims of violence least likely to receive the services.

It is the first TRC in New Mexico, and one of 55 in the country. The goal is to provide a community-centered, trauma-informed, and a healing system of care for victims of violence and trauma. Services include care coordination, connection to resources, peer support, workshops/education, and trauma-informed therapy.
