Twinkle Light Parade

The 2009 Twinkle Light Parade starts at 5:15 p.m., Nov. 28, in Downtown Albuquerque.

Get in the holiday mood with the City of Albuquerque's annual Twinkle Light Parade.

This year's theme is "Red or Green?"

Parade floats and entries decked in lights will wind from Downtown to the Rio Grande Botanic Garden.

The festivities step off at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 28. The route follows West Central from 3rd Street to New York Avenue.

After the parade, everyone is invited to the Rio Grande Botanic Garden for Albuquerque's favorite holiday display, the River of Lights.

The Urban Forest Project celebrates trees and environmental awareness.

This fall, Downtown Albuquerque is hosting a public art project celebrating trees and environmental awareness.

Dozens of banners designed by local artists are on display on light poles around Civic Plaza and Tijeras Avenue.

These banners, from The Urban Forest Project, will later be recycled into tote bags after the displays are taken down.

The Urban Tree Project is sponsored by the City of Albuquerque, AlbuquerqueGreen, and Tree New Mexico. Leaving www.cabq.gov, click for disclaimer
