City Focus About the Violence Intervention Program The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is a gun violence reduction program that focuses on those at highest risk for becoming part of the gun violence cycles in the City. Components encompass a public health approach to gun violence reduction and a focused deterrence law enforcement approach to gun violence. City Focus Gun Violence Task Force In October, Mayor Keller signed an executive order establishing the task force, with the goal to develop a comprehensive violence reduction strategy from crime-fighting to addressing root causes.
