Get Involved

Working together to learn and become more sustainable as a city takes all of us!

There’s many ways to support sustainability in our City, a few are listed here:

Earth Day

We can still celebrate Earth Day while practicing social distancing! Please enjoy our suggestions on sustainable actions and activities you can do at home and with your kids.

Take Action

Keep an eye for volunteer opportunities at ABQtodo and on the One Albuquerque Volunteers website. Additional opportunities will be posted here regularly.

There are many great community groups, and boards and commissions supporting sustainability work. Once a month, the Sustainability Office presents project updates for discussion with the Albuquerque Energy Council (AEC). With the aim of improving public involvement in the City of Albuquerque’s energy planning, the Albuquerque Energy Council meets once a month to determine long term resource planning, energy project selection criteria, and innovative ways to reduce our emissions city-wide.

Under the leadership of the City’s Facility and Energy Management Division, the AEC is a great opportunity for all members of the public to play a role in guiding the future of how Albuquerque uses energy. The AEC meets every third Wednesday from 8-10 a.m., feel free to come join us!
