Clean Transportation

Information about sustainability efforts at the City of Albuquerque.

About one-third of Albuquerque’s greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation. By electrifying and reducing the emissions of the City’s fleet, the City will save taxpayer money on fuel and maintenance, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve air quality by cutting down on NOx and SOx. Learn more about how you can reduce your transportation emissions.

Why drive an electric vehicle (EV)?

Electric vehicles (EVs) have many of the same features as gas-powered cars but use electric motors with rechargeable batteries. They are a critical step toward reducing carbon emissions and are a great option in New Mexico because of our abundant solar energy.
