Are you interested in exploring a career in public safety? The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) is partnering with Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) to launch the Pathway to Public Safety Internship Program in August 2023.

This paid internship program will provide participants with training and work experience to prepare them for careers such as police service aide, police officer, firefighter, and community safety responder. Interns will earn college credit at CNM as they learn criminal justice procedures and first aid skills. Training will be paired with work experience at APD that will demonstrate various career pathways in public safety.

Program Eligibility Requirements

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have obtained a high school diploma or high school equivalency by July 24, 2023
