Parks & Recreation Seeking Businesses, Community Groups to Participate in First Ever Trunk or Treat at Balloon Fiesta Park

Groups needed to host trunks and tents where they will hand out goodies to trick-or-treaters

The City of Albuquerque’s Parks and Recreation Department for the first time will host Trunk or Treat for Albuquerque’s kids and families at Balloon Fiesta Park on Halloween night from 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. This FREE family-friendly event is geared toward little monsters of all ages. The event will be co-hosted by Slow Roll 505, a local cycling advocacy group working to promote active lifestyles and to connect communities in a safe and fun environment.

“We are excited to bring a Trunk or Treat event to Balloon Fiesta Park where Albuquerque’s kids and families can enjoy the holiday in a safe and fun environment,” stated Dave Simon, Director of Parks and Recreation. “With the help of Slow Roll 505, local businesses, and community organizations across the city, we want to make this a fun new Halloween tradition for Albuquerque.”

Kids and families are encouraged to wear their coolest costumes. Trick or treaters can bring their bikes and helmets to ride or can walk from trunk to trunk. A longer biking route will be available, and those who dare to make the trek will be rewarded with treats! A shorter walking route will be available for treaters ages 5 and under.

The department is also seeking businesses, neighborhood associations, community groups, and individuals who want to host a trunk or booth. There is no cost other than what is necessary to decorate your trunk or booth.
