The City of Albuquerque is seeking applications for several vacancies on advisory boards and commissions that serve the Parks & Recreation Department.

Have you ever wanted to serve your City, but you just didn't know how to go about doing that? Now is your chance! The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic residents to fill several vacancies on the advisory boards and commissions that serve our department. Check out the following opportunities:

Metropolitan Parks & Recreation Advisory Board: The members of this board serve an advisory role to the Director and the Parks and Recreation Department. Members must be residents of the City of Albuquerque and able to attend the monthly meetings.

  • We have seven (7) vacancies we need to fill on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board:
    • Two (2) at-large positions
    • Council District 2 Representative
    • Council District 3 Representative
    • Council District 4 Representative
    • Council District 5 Representative
    • Council District 8 Representative

Municipal Golf Advisory Board: This board is made up of members of the men's and women's golf associations from each of the City's four municipal golf courses as well as representatives from other golf constituencies. It is responsible for advising the Golf Division's operations of the four City courses.

  • We have two (2) vacancies on this board:
    • Los Altos Women's Golf Association Representative
    • Puerto del Sol Men's Golf Association Representative

Greater Albuquerque Recreational Trails Committee: GARTC supports, encourages, and advises local, state, and federal agencies to set priorities to optimize the use of appropriated funding for the purpose of developing new, while maintaining and renovating older, trail networks throughout the greater Albuquerque Metropolitan region. The committee reviews plans and projects that will impact trails, providing comments from the users' point of view; encourages governmental entities to acquire and utilize right-of-way; and helps to update and fulfill the objectives of the Trails and Bikeways Facility Plan.

  • We have five (5) vacancies on this committee:
    • Equestrian Representative
    • Off-Road Bicyclist Representative
    • Active Elderly Representative
    • East of Rio Grande Representative
    • West of Rio Grande Representative
