Heroes Halloween final

Saturday, October 26, 2019 | 5-9 p.m. | Albuquerque Fire Rescue Academy

The Heroes of Albuquerque are teaming up to host an unforgettable Halloween event at the Albuquerque Fire Rescue Academy,11500 Sunset Gardens Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. Albuquerque Fire Rescue and the Albuquerque Police Department will champion this free, all-ages event to get you in the spirit of the holiday.

Activities

Kids of all ages can enjoy an indoor carnival that will be hosted by your local firefighter Heroes. Test your skills playing a variety of carnival games created by each of the 22 fire stations in the city. Listen during spooky story time and watch a puppet show performed by firefighters. Take on the kids' firefighter challenge and learn what to do in a fire emergency in the blow-up fire house.

Come dressed up and get your face painted for free to complete your costume. Trunk-or-Treat from your Heroes at APD. The National Guard will be providing a climbing wall to test your superhero strength.

Those 14+ can get spooked in the 6 story Nightmare on Nine Mile Hill Haunted Tower. Follow local Heroes through a narrative of frightening situations.

See your Heroes in action as they fight fires, repel down the tower and more, all to demonstrate their rescue skills.

Check out First Responder vehicles including fire apparatus, HAZMAT, SWAT, CSI, hovercraft and a military helicopter!

Fighting crime can work up an appetite. A variety of food trucks will offer calories and carbs before your candy rush.

Shop in the pop-up costume shop. Hundreds of kids' costumes have been donated by Spirit Halloween Store for those who need a Halloween ensemble.

Community

One Albuquerque is coming together to bring this event to the community. A variety of City Departments including Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Albuquerque Police, Family & Community, Solid Waste, Cultural Services and ABQ Ride are joining forces to coordinate this free, family-fun event.

We still need support from the greater Albuquerque community. If you would like to make a donation of candy or children's costumes, please deliver to your neighborhood fire station.
