Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales Reads on Lavender Libros

Lavender Libros is a Children’s Book Reading Program by local government and community members.

City Councilor Cynthia D. Borrego has launched ‘Lavender Libros’ a book reading project to demonstrate care and outreach to New Mexico’s children. Government administrators and community leaders alike will read a children's book available on the 'Lavender Libros’ YouTube channel.  Melissa Sanchez, Executive Director of ABQ Westside Chamber of Commerce, is helping organize the project.
 
The reading broadcasts will occur every Wednesday until the State Health Order is lifted and possibly continue throughout the year, visit the YouTube channel.
 
Today, Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales reads The Littlest Families Big Day by Emily Winfield Martin.

Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, Albuquerque City Councilor Klarissa Peña, and Albuquerque Bernalillo County Community Schools Executive Director Danette Townsend, as well as other guest readers will present special readings on upcoming Wednesday’s throughout April and May.  Every Wednesday will provide this at home opportunity to learn and lead with Lavender Libros.
