Overview

This project began at the neighborhood’s request, with specific areas of concern identified by members of the community. This neighborhood sits along the south side of the Albuquerque railyard switching station and has historically been impacted by noise and vibration from the nearby railroad tracks. A noise and vibration assessment was conducted by Parametrix in early 2022. The assessment identified the specific rail yard activities that produce intrusive sound levels and vibrations between Woodward Rd. and Trumbull Ave., the times of day these activities occur, and their intensity, and identified and evaluated potential measures to reduce rail yard noise levels within the neighborhood.
