October 1, 2018 Newsletter from City Councilor Isaac Benton
Hello Neighbors,
The next City Council meeting is Monday, October 1 at 5:00 pm in the Vincent Griego Chambers, basement level of City Hall: Agenda.
Legislation
- O-18-29 and R-18-85 Shared Transportation Programs: These bills relate to the operation of shared bicycle or electric scooter services in Albuquerque. O-18-29 (Davis) proposes regulations for the operation of these services and is on Monday's agenda. I am introducing R-18-85, a competing bill, for immediate action at Monday's meeting. My resolution would establish a moratorium on the operation of any new services of this type for three months or until legislation regulating these services has been enacted. I am not opposed to these types of services but do not feel that enough discussion has occurred with respect to how they should be regulated.
