Albuquerque Police Department

  • All Albuquerque Police Department substations are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • The APD Records Office is closed for walk-in requests. Submit a police report to 505-768-2020 or [email protected]. APD Records personnel are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • APD is encouraging the public to use online reporting. Submit police reports online.

ABQ RIDE & Sun Van

Transit will continue operating its current fixed route & Sun Van service. Updated schedule information is available at the Transit website.

Albuquerque BioPark

  • The ABQ BioPark Zoo, Botanic Garden, and Tingley Beach are open.
  • Indoor exhibits including the Penguin Chill and reptile building at the zoo and the BUGarium at the Botanic Garden are open at limited capacity.
  • The Aquarium opens to New Mexico BioPark Society members starting Wednesday, May 5 and the general public starting Wednesday, May 12. Tickets must be purchased online in advance at HoldMyTicket.

Albuquerque City Council Office

Front desk is open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday-Friday. Staff can be reached via telephone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday at 505-768-3100. Albuquerque Museum

  • Open Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays: 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • Closed on Mondays.

Animal Welfare

  • The Animal Welfare Department is conducting animal viewing on a first come basis in an effort to continue with its mission to save animal lives and also comply with social distancing recommendations. Anyone wanting to adopt a pet is asked to visit the AWD website to see available pets and see the information about animal viewing.
  • AWD is accepting emergency intake of stray animals, meaning animals in need of medical treatment because they are sick or injured and animals that may pose a risk to public safety. The intake desk will be open for emergency intake of stray animals from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week. No appointment is necessary for emergency admissions.
  • Animal Welfare will accept non-emergency stray or owned pets at each shelter location seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only.
  • Animal Protection Officers will continue operations to address public safety concerns.
  • The Everyday Adoption Center is open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays.
  • Lucky Paws Adoption Center is closed.

Balloon Museum

The BMX facility is open for groups for an overall limit of 150. Contact Duke City BMX for more information.

Boca Negra Horseman’s Complex

Gatherings limited to 150 individuals.

City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk’s office is open the public by appointment and will continue to process requests for public records electronically and provide for inspection of public records by appointment. The City Clerk’s Office will continue accepting summonses, appeals, and subpoenas that are submitted electronically to [email protected] but will accept service by appointment as well.

City Pools

Open at limited capacity for lap swimming and water exercise. Reservations are required and can be made at or by calling the facility directly. Reservations open up two days in advance.

Community Centers

Drive-In Events

Drive-in events at Balloon Fiesta Park, and other locations, are currently permitted without vehicle limits at the Turquoise level. City permitting required for all drive-in style events.

Economic Development, Film, & Small Business Offices

Closed to the public for in person service but can be reached by calling 505-768-3270.

Environmental Health

Air Quality and Consumer Health Permitting offices remain closed to the public for in-person service but can be reached for questions or to schedule an appointment by calling 311.

Esperanza Bicycle Safety Education Center

Open weekly on Tuesdays & Sundays from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., by appointment only. Appointment reservations will open at 10 a.m. the day of, and can be made by calling 505-224-6668.

Everyday Adoption Center

The Everyday Adoption Center is open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays.



Family & Youth Programs

Registrations for summer youth programming open in April and May. Learn more and register.

Fire Marshal Plans Checking

Now accepting plans via email to be reviewed and approved. All Fire shop drawings can be emailed directly to [email protected].

Golf Center at Balloon Fiesta Park

The golf center is open at 75% capacity and six-foot social distancing is required. Tee times are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Golf Courses

Open at 50 percent capacity. Tee time reservations are required and can be made by calling the course directly. Food and beverage services are open for takeout, indoor seating at 50% capacity and outdoor seating at 100% capacity.

Health & Social Service Centers

Metropolitan Redevelopment

Open Space Visitor Center

Center will allow groups of 50 10 to gather indoors and up to 150 individuals outdoors, and follow all other COVID safe practices. Room previously closed will now be open to the public –Media Room, Gallery and Kitchen.The Tower may open up to a maximum of 2 people at a time.

Paying Parking Tickets & Parking Permits

  • Parking Division is not forwarding parking citations to Metro Court at this time.

Pickleball & Tennis Courts

The Manzano Mesa Pickleball Complex and Vilella Park Pickleball Courts are open at 75 percent capacity. All tennis courts located in parks are open at 75 percent capacity.

Planning Department

Plaza del Sol is currently closed to the public but by-appointment arrangements can be made for necessary in-person consultations by calling 505-924-3860. All permitting services will continue via telephone/email, and site inspections and field work will continue to be performed. A drop box outside the building is set up for applicants needing to turn in any paperwork that cannot be electronically submitted. For these types of issues, staff will pick up and review submissions left in the drop box and then arrange for a time for applicants to pick up any permits or paperwork.

Senior Centers

The Turquoise phase will continue grab & go (drive-thru model) of lunch meals at three senior centers and two multigenerational centers for those 60 and older. Limited, low-impact, reservation-based programming, including fitness facilities, will continue to expand at all centers so as not to interfere with lunch operations. Learn more.

Senior Meals

The following centers will temporarily serve as pick-up lunch distribution sites between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday to Friday, for seniors 60+: Barelas Senior Center, Los Volcanes Senior Center, Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center, North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center, North Valley Senior Center. Contact the Center you would like to visit to reserve a meal.

Home delivered meals will continue to operate as normal for qualifying seniors 60+. Call the Senior Information Line to learn more: 505-764-6400.

Senior Services

Transportation, Care Coordination, Home Services, and the Senior Information Line (505-764-6400) are all operating as usual.

Shooting Range Park

All firing line tables are now open with limited group sizes at each. 50 individuals indoors and 150 individuals outdoor will be allowed at a time. Clubs, CCW classes, and paintball groups can meet in groups of 10 and must follow COVID safe practices.

Solid Waste

  • City Solid Waste Management Convenience Centers are open.
  • All collection operations are operating as usual.

South Broadway Cultural Center

Tennis Centers

The Jerry Cline Tennis Center and Sierra Vista Tennis Complex are open at 50 percent capacity. Court reservations are required and can be made by calling the facility directly.

Vehicle Pollution Management Test Resource Center

Closed, however services are available by email at [email protected] or by phone at 505-764-1110. Instructions available over the phone or press “0” to speak with someone. Please leave a voicemail if there’s no answer and the call will be returned quickly during normal business hours.

Westside Emergency Housing Center



The City of Albuquerque has extended public access to free WiFi hotspots (wireless internet connections) by providing additional locations in areas where social distancing is possible. This will help provide internet access to as many folks as possible while allowing residents to maintain social distancing guidelines. Learn more.
