May is National Bike Month

Join us for challenges and activities all month long!

What is National Bike Month?

May is National Bike Month--established in 1956, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. There are several key dates this month, with lots of opportunities to celebrate biking. Albuquerque has been celebrating National Bike to Work Day for over two decades.

2025

  • May 4: National Ride a Bike Day
  • May 7: Ride Your Bike to School Day
  • May 12-18: Bike to Work Week
  • May 16: Bike to Work Day

Through an extensive application and vetting process, Albuquerque is ranked as a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists since 2020. Whether you’re riding for fun with friends and family, for fitness, or taking essential trips to work or shop, you are part of the movement for safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people.
