Job Opening: Guest Experience - Rangers

Full-time and part-time positions are available at Tingley Beach.

The ABQ BioPark’s Guest Experience team is seeking outgoing and customer-focused team members to serve as rangers at the BioPark Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.

Successful candidates will enjoy helping the public and working to ensure that all guests have a fun, safe and educational visit to the BioPark. Rangers report to the guest experience manager while also supporting other BioPark departments.

BioPark ranger duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a safe visit for all BioPark guests by communicating rules about COVID-safe policies
  • Providing exceptional customer service by answering questions, directing guests and sharing in-depth knowledge of BioPark operations
  • Interacting with the public while standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Maintaining a safe environment by monitoring building capacities, cleaning touchpoints, keeping records, placing signs, etc.
  • Taking proactive steps to create fun, safe and educational experiences for all guests
  • Working on weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Are proud to share their knowledge of the ABQ BioPark
  • Collaborate with a team of rangers to serve guests in all corners of the BioPark
  • Are friendly, organized and punctual
  • May have previous experience in customer/guest service

Preferred qualifications:

BioPark rangers must be 18 years or older. BioPark rangers must be physically able to lift or move up to 30 pounds (stanchions, light barriers). Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Candidates must pass a security background check to be hired.

Work schedule:

Full-time and part-time positions are available. Most positions require weekend work. Shifts are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 30 minute lunch.

Pay rate:

$13 per hour. BioPark rangers are employed through a staffing agency, not the City of Albuquerque.
